The council reviewed campus event highlights and provided an overview of the Battle of the Books competition. The primary discussion centered on finalizing the library book list, resulting in the removal of one title from the middle school list for being better suited for high school students. Additionally, the committee discussed the current status of library budgets, proposed a transition to shorter and more frequent virtual meetings to improve efficiency, and addressed potential future staffing changes regarding the implementation of Innovation Specialists.

The Board of Trustees convened for a special meeting to conduct the canvass of election returns. The board reviewed the results for early voting, election day, absentee ballots, and the post-election hand count audit. The final vote tallies were presented for the candidates, and the board moved to approve the order canvassing the election results and declaring the winners.

The committee discussed several policy items, including a framework for naming school facilities, and reviewed first readings for revisions regarding board policies, employment requirements, and vacation and holiday procedures for employees. Additionally, the committee reviewed policies related to the superintendent evaluation process, specifically addressing how to handle student performance metrics given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
