The public hearing was held to discuss the recently published Mid Valley Highway environmental assessment and the preferred alternative for the next segment of Midley Highway, which would connect the road from where it currently ends at Sr 138 South to sr36. The environmental study team shared the findings of the environmental study and details surrounding the preferred alternative alignment. The history of Mid Valley Highway, a long-time coming corridor for the Tula County Valley, was discussed. The environmental assessment involves establishing the purpose and need for the project. The study team considered four concepts and identified the third alignment as the preferred alternative. The environmental assessment documents the impacts associated with that preferred alternative as well as mitigation for those impacts.
