The Commission addressed several items regarding Certificates of Appropriateness, including a proposal for window and door replacements at 23842 W. Main St., and a motion to recommend approval for replacement carriage walk and related improvements at 15022 S. Bartlett Ave. Additionally, the Commission discussed and initiated the public hearing process for designating 23837 W. Ottawa St. as a local historic landmark, adopting staff findings of fact to support the designation based on architectural criteria.

The Commission discussed and reviewed the Bluestem Subdivision development application, which involved a request for annexation and special use for a planned residential community. The discussion covered traffic concerns, site access, landscaping, fencing, and infrastructure requirements. The commission recommended approval of the annexation, the special use for the planned development, and the preliminary plat of subdivision, subject to stipulations regarding compliance with village engineering and fire protection requirements. Additionally, the commission accepted the annual report covering the period from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026.

The Board discussed several operational and administrative items, including the proclamation of Juneteenth, the support of the Illinois America 250 Commemoration, and various reductions of Letters of Credit for roadway and public improvement projects. Additionally, the agenda covered a one-year extension for Bridge Industrial project entitlements, the approval of fire life and safety systems grants, considerations regarding open carry and consumption of alcohol at special events, an increase in video gaming licenses for the Plainfield Moose Lodge, and contract renewals for sewer cleaning and televising.
