The meeting addressed several items of business. Key actions included the approval of Pamela D. White and John Boynton, III as notaries. The Commission passed a resolution to accept the Bledsoe County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) TDEC Non-Competitive Water Infrastructure Grant Program Technical Assistance & Grant Administration Services. Additionally, the quarterly reports for the Highway Department were approved, along with the approval of items to be removed from the department's inventory list and the approval of the Highway Department's inventory list.

The commission conducted business related to the 2022/2023 budget for all funds and related resolutions. Key actions included the acceptance of budget amendments for all departments. The commission also approved American Rescue Funds reporting categorized as loss revenue. Following a discussion on the order of budget items, the commission approved the 2022/2023 budget for all county funds and the resolution for non-profit contributions and property tax.

The Special Called Session included several key actions taken by the Commission. Actions included the appointment of Johnny Mack Swafford to the Nursing Home Board, approval of a resolution authorizing the Bledsoe County Mayor to apply for a county credit card, and approval of budget amendments for all departments. Furthermore, the Commission approved a resolution fixing the tax levy for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. Appropriations for various funds, departments, institutions, offices, and agencies for the fiscal year 2023-2024 were accepted, including specific changes to the General Fund budget related to the Jail Director/Supervisor salary and Cafeteria Personnel, with offsetting decreases to the undesignated fund balance. Finally, a resolution making appropriations to nonprofit charitable organizations for the fiscal year 2023-2024 was approved.

The meeting included a presentation by Craig Fuller regarding Fields, which was followed by questions. Action on the re-routing of 2,235 feet of Old State Highway 28 was tabled pending contract changes. The commission approved several notaries, the quarterly reports for all departments, budget amendments, the Bledsoe County Debt Management Policy, and the Three Star Fiscal Strength and Efficient Government initiative. Resolutions were approved for the Litter Grant F/Y 2022/2023 and the 2022 CDBG application for a Fire Training Center. The land purchase request from Charles David Shelton, II and Julie Richardson saw no action. The Ross House Lease, along with the Old State Highway 28 re-routing and the Audit Committee Report, were tabled until May 9, 2022. Dona Loyd and Sheila Cagle were approved for 3-year terms on the Library Board. The commission voted to recess until May 9, 2022.

The session included the election of a new Commission Chairman, who subsequently presided over the remainder of the business, and the nomination of a Chairman Pro-Tem. Key actions included the approval of Mayor's committee appointments, budget amendments for the County General fund, Schools, and the Highway Department. The Commission also approved quarterly reports for all departments, accepted a TDEC Infrastructure Grant, approved a development lease, and authorized cooperative purchasing. Furthermore, resolutions were approved to bar sexual offenders from serving as firefighters or rescue squad members, to opt out of statewide building code standards for certain dwellings, and to impose a 4% occupancy tax. The Commission also approved waterline bids for several roads and authorized the use of excess funds for Freda Brown Road improvements, authorized the erection of "No Metal Detecting" signs at county facilities, approved the list of highway department inventory items not found, and voted to keep the beer permit restriction unchanged.
