Town of Ware Shoals Council Meeting
The meeting included remarks expressing appreciation for volunteers who assisted with the Town's first Warming Station and for extensive work with History and Tourism activities. Public comments addressed the Zoning & Planning Commission's report regarding housing growth and the request for stronger ordinance enforcement, concerns about speeding vehicles near Stadium Drive and Dairy Street with a suggestion for rubber speed bumps, a request to add U.S. Space Force representation to the Veterans Plaza, and reports of ATV use and trespassing on private property near sewer right-of-way. The Police Department provided an update, noting 304 calls for service and announcing the department's intent to join the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The Council unanimously approved declaring surplus two police vehicles (2014 and 2021 Dodge Chargers) to be bundled for online auction with a combined reserve price of $27,000. Additionally, the Council unanimously approved a resolution to dispose of other surplus items, such as old furniture and equipment, by donating them to charitable organizations.
