The committee reviewed the FY 2018 financial update, focusing on fund balances, budget deficits, and transfers. Key discussions included the financial challenges surrounding special education out-of-district tuition, potential strategies to manage the associated deficit, and budget projections for FY19. The committee also reviewed the FY19 budget calendar and assumptions, discussed IT shared services with the Town, and reviewed a draft Memorandum of Understanding regarding IT support.

The committee discussed and reviewed several policies, regulations, and bylaws. Key agenda items included the introduction of a new policy regarding parent-teacher communications, updates to sex discrimination and sexual harassment policies to comply with new state law requiring mandatory employee training, and revisions to policies concerning confidentiality and access to student records. The committee also identified future topics for consideration, such as vaping regulations and guidelines for animals in schools.
