The 2021-22 Strategic Plan for the City of Jackson, Michigan MLK Corridor Improvement Authority aims to promote economic growth, reinvestment, and revitalization within its district area by supporting community and business opportunities. The council discussed compliance with a state mandate requiring the replacement of lead water pipes, with projected costs of 171 million dollars, and directed the city manager to report on necessary water rate increases. The council also unanimously approved partial tax relief for a new restaurant development expected to create 40 jobs, and authorized several community events, including the Bright Walls mural festival and an event for the Jackson Autism Support Network.
