The Board of Commissioners will convene to receive updates and reports from staff regarding the jail medical contract, the status of the EMS system, the tax revaluation process, and the formation of a coastal funding ad-hoc committee.

The purpose of the meeting is for the Board of Commissioners to enter into a closed session to consult with legal counsel regarding attorney-client privilege, to provide instructions to staff or negotiating agents concerning the terms of real property acquisition or employment contracts, and to discuss the qualifications, performance, or character of specific public officers or employees.

The meeting covered parks maintenance and improvement projects, including scoreboards, pavilion renovations, and playground installations. Recreation updates included reports on recent community events and preparations for upcoming senior games and Easter activities. The athletics report addressed youth leagues and the passage of a new age advancement protocol. Director updates involved a grant status report for playground development, personnel recruitment, the status of suitability plans for parks, and a clarification regarding dog park rumors.

The meeting included reports on various parks, recreation, and athletics projects and events. Key topics included updates on winter construction projects, playground replacements, and Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects. The committee reviewed recaps of recent recreational events and upcoming programming. Additionally, the committee conducted a vote to establish the top three development priorities for both Hines Farm Park and Onslow Pines Park based on suitability analysis findings.
