The committee hosted a presentation focused on tick-borne disease prevention and identification. The discussion covered the risks associated with Lyme disease and alpha-gal syndrome, practical tick removal techniques, and the importance of using preventative measures such as insect repellent and protective clothing. Additionally, the presentation introduced a new home test kit designed to detect Lyme disease in ticks and discussed the development of an AI-driven predictive mapping system for tracking tick-borne pathogens in the community.

The board met to discuss several administrative and operational matters. These included an executive session for collective bargaining and personnel agreements, the presentation of a student-designed town flag, and approval of community initiatives such as a memorial tree and the installation of rain barrels. Additionally, the board approved permits for a Boy Scout bottle drive, a local fireworks display, and a community farmers market and craft fair. The board also reviewed the search process for a Principal Assessor and discussed the appointment of an assistant wiring inspector for emergency situations.

The meeting included public hearings regarding the razing of an existing structure and construction of a new single-family dwelling at 59 Paradise Lane, as well as the construction of a single-family dwelling on a non-conforming lot at 0 Cedar Lane.

The committee discussed building maintenance and the relationship with the housing authority, specifically questioning why maintenance services are provided by another town's housing authority and how these arrangements are funded. A line item transfer of $2,200 was approved to address clerical wages. Additionally, the town administrator provided an update regarding the procedures and constraints surrounding the potential calling of a special town meeting.
