Southampton Town Board Special Meeting
The meeting commenced with the reading of the notice for the special meeting, which was called to address items originally scheduled for a cancelled meeting on December 23, 2025. Prior to the agenda, the Town Tax Receiver provided an update on the 2025-2026 tax bills, noting online payment options and due date adjustments due to the holiday schedule. The board handled communications, including public notices and correspondence regarding development, leaf blowers, and service programming (ACC, ESPN). Three walk-on resolutions were added to the agenda, including authorizing facility closures on December 26, 2025, approving a warrant, and ratifying a memorandum of agreement with CSEA. The public hearing for a local law concerning hotel development overlay (HDO) was held open until the January 13th meeting to allow for receipt of Planning Board comments. During the public portion, the president of the Southtown CSA expressed gratitude for the board's partnership in recent negotiations, noting a high membership turnout for a recent vote. The board then proceeded to pass numerous resolutions, authorizing various purchases such as motor vehicle oil, fuel, police utility interceptors, and snow plow parts. Further resolutions approved supplemental funding for sanitary system remediation at the Animal Shelter, authorized contract amendments for engineering services related to parking lot upgrades, and approved contracts for engineering, survey, and groundwater monitoring services. The board also authorized contract extensions for vehicle fuel maintenance systems and addressed funding for the adult daycare program and senior citizen nutrition program.
