Additionally, the Village of Groton position statement on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was accepted, and the Labor Day 5k was approved. Clerk Niswender was approved to arrange drawings of the Groton Police Station building. The Code Enforcement Officer submitted a report, and the Groton Joint Recreation Committee discussed summer programming and events.

Additionally, the board approved a letter for Old Chatham Creamery, a resolution to transfer funds for a new Police Vehicle, declined insurance options, approved service contracts for Groton Fire and Ambulance, and discussed a proposed loan to the Sewer fund from the General fund.

They adopted a resolution to combine the Light Board, Water Board, and Sewer Board into one Board of Utility Commission. Appointments of committees and commissioners were reviewed and approved. The board also held a Public Hearing on the 2024-25 Tentative Budget, and subsequently adopted the Village of Groton 2024-2025 Budget. Additionally, travel was approved for Ashlyn McCarty to attend the NYALGRO School.

The board discussed the replacement of the 4th mixer at the WWTP, a street sweeper purchase, and paving on Railroad Ave. They also approved the WWTP Blower Fan Replacement. Renee Wood was appointed as a part-time cleaner, and Schuyler Miller as an Electric Line Helper. Resolutions were adopted to recognize Public Power Week and designate the Village Office as the polling place for Village Elections. The board also discussed a walk-in cooler quote for the Fire Department and decided to wait for further discussion.
