Town Council Meeting Minutes
The Town Council meeting included discussions and updates on various topics. Friends of Occoneechee State Park presented their proposed projects for 2025, including an ADA compliant fishing pier and a disc golf course. The Mecklenburg County YMCA provided an update on their membership and recent purchases. Town Manager Jones reported on Public Works activities, water and sewer line repairs, and the upcoming end of leaf pickup. Chief Ricky Wilkinson discussed police academy progress, advanced DUI classes, and the upcoming launch of E-Citations. Economic Development Coordinator Tara Tuck highlighted Clarksville's feature in the Virginia Travel Guide, presented Clarksville branded merchandise, and discussed opportunities for the Blank's building. Updates were provided on the Marina Building, Sewer Plant Improvement Project, Water Plant Expansion, Cove Project, and Planters Warehouse. The council also discussed upcoming events and a tentative budget for 2025-2026, and convened in a closed session to discuss personnel and property matters.
