This Special Area Plan for San Tan Valley, prepared for Pinal County, establishes public policy and guidance for future growth and development within the San Tan Valley area. The plan is structured around four principal themes: strengthening the community by fostering housing diversity and creating high-quality public spaces; broadening economic opportunity through local spending and investment; improving transportation and utility systems with multimodal options and better connectivity; and promoting a healthy lifestyle through connected trails, open spaces, and walkable destinations. The overall aim is to define a unified vision for a sustainable built environment and encourage healthy choices within the community.

The Peralta Regional Park Master Plan provides a comprehensive framework for the development and management of Peralta Regional Park. It aims to transform the park into a natural jewel, offering distinctive recreational opportunities such as tent camping, rock climbing, multi-use trails, and dark-sky viewing. The plan prioritizes maintaining the biological integrity of the site, ensuring thoughtful access and connectivity, providing educational interpretation, protecting wildlife corridors, and attracting diverse user groups. Implementation is envisioned over five to ten years to enhance regional quality of life and establish the park as a significant recreational destination.

The Pinal County Comprehensive Plan serves as a long-term vision to manage growth, preserve quality of life, and promote sustainability. It aims to position Pinal County as a vibrant, healthy, and economically sustainable region by focusing on key components: Sense of Community, Mobility and Connectivity, Economic Sustainability, Open Spaces and Places, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy, Happy Residents, and Quality Educational Opportunities. The plan emphasizes effective economic vitality and environmental stewardship through coordinated efforts with governmental entities and Native American communities.

The committee discussed planning for an upcoming tabletop exercise simulating an ammonia release at Abbott Nutrition. Key objectives reviewed included emergency recognition, responder coordination, public warning procedures, and EPA Risk Management Plan requirements. The group identified a need for updated GIS mapping for the impact zone and coordinated logistics for the exercise, including venue arrangements at the Old Courthouse, participant outreach, and assignment of evaluators.
