The meeting included a special presentation recognizing students from Choffin Career and Technical Center for receiving YOUMed Dental Radiology Licensures. The board discussed the Curriculum/Academic Improvement Plan (AIP), Human Capital, Business Management and Athletics, Finance, and Policy and Legislation. The board addressed citizens' participation and held an executive session to discuss employee matters, property purchase, and confidential matters. The Superintendent's Report included a City of Youngstown Tax Abatement Notice and a Personnel Report. The Treasurer's Report covered Purchase Orders and Vendor Contracts. The meeting also included President's announcements and adjournment.

The meeting included recognition of district scholars for academic achievements and contributions. An update was provided on the transition of Junior and Senior students attending Choffin Career & Technical Center, including highlights of the programs and the YSU articulation agreement. The Board approved treasurer's consent items, superintendent's consent items including the YCSD/Choffin CTC and YSU Articulation Agreement, National Principal Month Recognition, Field Trip Requests, and Personnel Report. A motion was passed to approve the employment contract for the new treasurer. Committee reports were given on Curriculum/Academic Improvement Plan, Human Capital, Business Management and Athletics, Finance, Policy and Legislation, District Configuration, and Career and Technical Education.

The meeting included an executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of an employee or the investigation of charges or complaints against an employee, official, licensee or student, and matters required to be kept confidential by federal law or rules or state statutes.

The strategic plan focuses on improving academic performance and attendance for all middle school students at Chaney Middle. Key goals include decreasing chronic absenteeism by 20.00%, increasing English Language Arts performance by 15.00% as measured by the State Report card, and increasing Math performance by 30.00% as measured by the State Report Card.

The Youngsttown City School District is implementing a district reconfiguration plan to strengthen educational offerings and ensure every student has a robust academic program, high-quality instruction, and a cohesive school identity, while using resources responsibly. Phase one involves uniting two traditional high schools and two traditional middle schools, maintaining the early college programs, and expanding career technical and college credit plus programs. The plan aims to address transportation challenges, reduce the district's footprint, and foster a united community.
