Discussions also covered the West Chicago Community Park Phase O Development Project, including site specifics and funding sources, as well as an amendment to the preliminary engineering design services contract for the Downtown Modernization and Beautification Project, which incorporated community feedback and conceptual planning adjustments.

The commission reviewed multiple applications for Certificates of Appropriateness, including roof, window, door, and fire escape replacements at the West Chicago City Museum and a storefront façade renovation for a vacant property on Main Street. The commission also discussed updates regarding the city museum masonry project, the progress of the architectural and historical survey, and formally approved the 2026 meeting schedule.

The commission reviewed and approved the 2026 Art Banner Exhibit, including the selection of a red, white, and blue background design. Staff provided progress updates on the Fountain Basin initiative, noting the status of the artist agreement and painting schedule, and discussed plans for an unveiling event. The meeting also included an update on artist submissions for the Chalk the Walk initiative and a discussion on incorporating the Loteria event into the upcoming Mosaic Market, which will require outreach to new artists.

The committee discussed the postponement of the bond sale for the 2026 General Obligation Bonds due to global financial market instability, with an updated bond ordinance anticipated for a future meeting. Additionally, they reviewed and provided direction on an amendment to the development agreement with 1300 Roosevelt Investors LLC and a related intergovernmental agreement with DuPage County regarding roadway improvements at the intersection of Fabyan Parkway and Poorman Parkway.
