This document is a student opinion survey designed to gather feedback from elementary students (grades 3-6) on their experiences at school, informing the district's comprehensive strategy for the 2025-26 school year. The survey covers student perspectives on academic readiness, study habits, growth mindset, teacher support, school community and belonging, social-emotional well-being, safety, facilities, and awareness of the district's three goals: Academic Competence, Personal Competence, and Life Success. The collected input will guide the strategic direction of the school district.

This document is an opinion survey for high school students (grades 9-12) concerning the Garden Grove School District's comprehensive strategy for the 2025-26 academic year. The survey aims to collect student feedback on their school experiences, covering aspects such as academic preparedness, learning habits, social-emotional well-being, school environment and safety, respect among peers and adults, and future aspirations. It also gauges student perspectives on district support, facilities, and potential employment opportunities, providing valuable input for the district's strategic direction.

The meeting included a Closed Session for labor negotiations, followed by a Study Session concerning board policies. Key discussions during the regular session included a presentation on the district's 60th anniversary celebration and recognition of the February Employees of the Month. The Board adopted the Governance Handbook for the 2026 calendar year. Several actions were approved, including accepting the Mid-Year Local Control and Accountability Plan Update for 2025-2026, approving participation in The Philharmonic Society Strike Up the Band Grant, and approving participation for the Pacifica High School color guard in an out-of-district championship event. Financial actions involved accepting the Annual Audit, Measure P Audits, and the School Readiness Grant Audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The Board accepted the bid from Rainbow Chefs Academy for Request for Proposal No. 2506 and rejected a wrongful death claim. Various Purchase Orders and Checks were approved, totaling over $14.8 million. Personnel actions regarding certificated and classified staff were also approved.

The meeting included a Closed Session to discuss employee discipline/dismissal/release and administrative appointments. A subsequent Study Session focused on board governance. Information items recognized Coaches and Athletes of Character, as well as the January Employees of the Month. Public comments addressed a student walkout and special education matters. The Board approved participation for various student groups in state and international competitions, authorized a price increase for food service supplies and fresh produce, ratified informal bid awards for construction projects, approved an extension for the RFP concerning Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), authorized food sales by student organizations, and accepted the Uniform Complaint Report Summary. Further actions included approving the use of district buses for the Tet Parade, approving numerous new and changed Purchase Orders and Checks totaling over $80 million, approving actions related to certificated and classified personnel, adopting a resolution to eliminate a classified position due to funding expiration, and approving a minimum wage increase for student worker classifications to $16.90 per hour, effective January 1, 2026.

The agenda for the meeting included several key business items, such as the approval of Bid No. 2303 for food service supplies with a 6.6 percent average price increase, ratification of informal bid awards (IB NO. 25-172 through 25-178) for various construction and renovation projects, and approval of a 22 percent average price increase for fresh produce under RFP No. 2208. The Board was also set to approve the first of four extensions for RFP No. 2405 concerning Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Further discussions involved authorizing a list of nutritious food items for sale by student organizations and accepting the Uniform Complaint Report Summary for October 1 through December 31, 2025. Personnel matters included a resolution to eliminate a classified position due to grant expiration (effective March 31, 2026) and the approval of a minimum wage increase to $16.90 per hour for specific student worker classifications, effective January 1, 2026. The Board was also scheduled to address the use of three district buses and drivers for the 2026 Tet Parade.
