The commission reviewed financial reports and approved the submission of operating, capital, and maintenance bills. The Chief Operator provided reports on operational stability, plant alarm system upgrades following an outage, insurance reimbursement for chlorine contact chamber leak costs, and the status of the plant influent flow recorder. The commission also discussed the impact of a bike path project on district sewer structures, status of retirement updates, and FY21 budget planning. Additionally, the commission reviewed the FY 2020 audit, which resulted in an unmodified opinion, and authorized a transfer of funds to a money market account at Adams Community Bank.

The meeting agenda includes new business, an open forum, and an executive session to discuss the purchase, exchange, lease, or valuation of real properties associated with Fiscal Year 2026 abatement applications. Following the executive session, the Board will reconvene to conduct a vote on the submitted abatement applications.

The Board of Assessors discussed the use of funds from the overlay account to abate uncollectable personal property accounts and real estate tax title debt associated with a defunct entity's former property. The meeting included updates on ongoing assessment work, including five-year re-valuation inspections, cyclical inspections of personal property and real estate, and legislative changes regarding the disposal of tax title properties. Furthermore, the Board received information regarding staff recruitment for office manager and assessor positions and inquired about the status of specific properties on Church Street.

The agenda includes the announcement of appointments to the Board of Assessors, Commission on Disabilities, and the Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire. Additionally, a proclamation will be presented in support of Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, and a presentation will be given by the Executive Director of the Berkshire Food Project regarding efforts to alleviate hunger, food insecurity, and social isolation in the city.

The commission held a public hearing to address a Request for Determination of Applicability for a project on Curran Memorial Highway, resulting in a negative determination for wetland buffer zone disturbance. Additionally, an Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation was reviewed for a property near Massachusetts Avenue regarding the Hide Hill Clean Up Project, which the commission found to be accurate. The commission also discussed a property matter near Spencer Road and authorized the drafting of a formal letter to the property owners to address potential conservation concerns.
