This document outlines the Local Literacy Plan for Great River School, mandated by the Minnesota READ Act. The plan's overarching goal is to ensure every Minnesota child reads at or above grade level, with specific literacy goals set for the 2026-27 school year, aiming to reduce the percentage of students not meeting reading standards across all grade levels. Key areas addressed include K-12 screening tools for foundational reading skills and dyslexia, data-based decision-making for instructional support, parent notification and involvement, evidence-based Tier 1 curricular resources, K-12 literacy intervention resources, utilization of literacy aid funds, and a comprehensive professional development plan for educators. The plan also details the school's implementation of a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
