Board meetings and strategic plans from Sheryl Chisamore's organization
The strategic plan for SUNY Ulster focuses on fostering a community of excellence and empowering a culture of achievement. Key goals include serving regional needs by increasing the number of Ulster County residents with post-secondary credentials and better serving the Hispanic population. The plan also aims to improve student success and completion by graduating more students annually and increasing diversity in hiring. Additionally, it focuses on supporting and enriching the academic portfolio through partnerships and workforce credential development, as well as increasing institutional effectiveness by securing additional revenue streams and maximizing capital funding.
The board of trustees approved an agreement between Ulster County Community College and the Ulster Community College Association, Inc., which was set to expire on August 31, 1999. The agreement involves the college providing support functions for finance, human resources, and other business matters for the Association. The college will absorb the administrative staffing of the association in two phases, 50% in 1999-2000 and the remaining 50% in 2000-2001, and will charge the Association for maintaining the books and records plus other services. Student funds resulting from the transfer will be used to increase support for athletics and student organizations.
The SUNY Ulster Board of Trustees approved the revised Student Code of Conduct Policy 6.3.2. The policy is designed to maintain and encourage a learning environment that fosters individual growth and responsibility. The Board directs the President to develop procedures to define the code of conduct, student rights and responsibilities, institutional sanctions, and procedural protections necessary to fairly implement this policy.
SUNY Ulster's 2030 strategic plan focuses on four pillars: serving regional needs, improving student success and completion, supporting and enriching the academic portfolio, and increasing institutional effectiveness. The plan aims to increase the number of Ulster County residents with post-secondary credentials, particularly among the Hispanic population. It seeks to improve student success and completion rates, enhance transfer opportunities with four-year institutions, and develop new workforce credentials. The plan also addresses financial sustainability, improving assessment processes, maximizing capital funding, and enhancing staff professional development and work-life satisfaction. The overall goal is to become the best small community college in New York by leveraging existing strengths and expanding achievement for the community.
