Presentation 2026
This presentation outlines a comprehensive proposal to address North Carolina's housing crisis by focusing on building quality and affordability in homes. The proposal centers on three key areas: increasing housing supply by repurposing state-owned properties, supporting residents within independent living communities with resources for success, and reducing everyday living costs. Key initiatives include promoting housing restoration through grants and tax credits, implementing a 'build-while-learning' program utilizing community college students for construction, and integrating sustainable practices such as green spaces and gray water systems. The plan is guided by Maslow's hierarchy of needs and aims to foster long-term financial stability and independence for residents, ensuring effective housing solutions for generations in North Carolina.
