Transportation Modernization Board Board Meeting
The board meeting focused on the competitive procurement process for the I-24 Southeast Corridor choice lanes project. The board received updates on the Transportation Modernization Act, which facilitated new infrastructure funding and delivery models. A major focus was the review and selection of a best-value proposal for a 50-year public-private partnership to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the corridor. The board evaluated multiple proposals, ultimately identifying the 'Drive TN' proposal as the best value due to its technical solutions, financial backing, and commitment to project enhancements, including connectivity improvements and reduced community impacts. Additionally, the meeting included discussion on the formation of the Tennessee Strategic Transportation Accountability Council to provide oversight for the project's financial outcomes.
