The council reviewed and approved ordinances for canvassing and declaring the results of the recent Special Bond Election and the General Election for Mayor and City Councilmembers. Additionally, the council took action to call for a runoff election for the position of Mayor. The meeting concluded with a swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Councilmembers representing Districts 3, 6, 7, and 8.

The City Council meeting included the presentation of special recognitions to community members and the approval of various engineering and construction bids for utility and infrastructure projects. Ordinances were passed regarding zoning changes, Specific Use Provisions, and amendments to the Garland Development Code. The Council also approved updates to the Garland Youth Council ordinance and authorized the issuance of Certificates of Obligation.
