North Central College Recognition And Special Presentations
The session focused on recognition and special presentations during the 2015 Commencement ceremonies. Key discussions included the recognition of retiring faculty members, Dr. Thomas Sawyer (Professor of Psychology) and Professor Judy Walters (Associate Professor of Computer Science), who were conferred Professor Emeritus and Associate Professor Emerita status, respectively. Additionally, Dr. Devidas Pandian (Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty) was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree for his 30 years of service. Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees were also conferred upon Dr. Harold R. Wildey and Dean Pandian again. The Gayle D. Swing Award for Meritorious Service was presented to Trustee Ray Kinney. Professor Richard Wilders was recognized with the Herald and Eva White First Citizen of the College Award. Finally, the Mark A. Read Student Leadership Award was presented to Aly Youngren, and the Class of 2015 presented their class gift, a five-year pledge of $30,000 to the North Central College Fund.
