The Coordinating Council meeting included an inclusive opening, a review of the Panorama survey data regarding Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives, and a presentation on the Second Interim Report. Additionally, site council teams met to analyze and reflect on local Panorama survey data, discussing trends in student emotional regulation and school-wide SEL perception.

The Council discussed instructional schedules, focusing on forming a committee for the upcoming year, calibrating Student Response Time (SRT), and reviewing the special education regionalization plan with Orinda, including the expansion of special day classes and the counseling enriched program. The technology agenda item addressed the replacement of teacher devices and the management of one-to-one student devices. Additionally, the Council reviewed goals regarding committees, special education engagement, parent education, communication, and community service, while site councils met to review Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) progress using Panorama data.

The committee held discussions regarding subcommittee reports, including the results of an audit with no findings, status updates on site inspections, and a review of project costs and invoice variances. The annual report was presented and approved for future submission. Additionally, the District provided an update on the bond program, the chief business officer delivered a financial report, and members discussed potential communication channels for outreach.

The committee reviewed reports from the Audit, Site Inspection, and Project/Cost Review subcommittees, noting that all examined invoices were within budget and that no issues were identified during audits or site assessments. Additionally, the district provided a progress update on the Measure D Bond Program, and the committee confirmed the schedule for the upcoming meeting where the annual report will be presented.

The Moraga School District is considering a local funding plan, specifically a potential parcel tax measure on the June 2, 2026 ballot, to address funding shortfalls and avoid teacher layoffs and additional educational cuts. This plan aims to generate local funds to attract and retain highly qualified educators, continue funding for effective science, technology, engineering, arts, music, math, and reading programs, and maintain manageable class sizes. The measure emphasizes fiscal accountability with local control, independent oversight, and a senior exemption, and includes a 7-year sunset clause.
