The Board of Trustees held a study session focusing on special education programs within the district. Key discussion topics included an overview of the special education eligibility and assessment process, demographic analysis of student enrollment including concerns regarding the over-representation of Latin students and under-representation of Asian students in special education, and an explanation of the district's continuum of services. The session also featured presentations on specific programs such as the Bay Academy and Bay University, highlighting their inclusive approaches, vocational training, and community-based learning efforts.

The committee conducted a tour of three schools, including Aragon, Hillsdale, and Mills High Schools. The discussion focused on observing site-specific issues such as transite panels and evaluating ongoing drainage problems at Aragon High School.

The committee discussed updates on ongoing projects, specifically the site selection for the new Alternative High School and the construction progress of the new District Office building. Members were introduced, and an update on organization affiliations was provided. Significant attention was given to the history of Measure bonds, the condition of solar panels, and concerns regarding transite panels at Hillsdale High School, including associated safety issues and costs. The committee also reviewed financial updates for measures M and O, and discussed other capital projects including science wing modernization at the high school, administrative office layouts, classroom space requirements, and pool deck renovations.
