Special Magistrate Hearing Building And Construction Enforcement
The Special Magistrate reviewed several building and construction enforcement cases. Key discussion topics included property compliance status, expiration of permits, and requests for time extensions to rectify violations such as unpermitted tree removal and unpermitted sign installation. The Magistrate granted various time extensions, typically around 56 days, for property owners to come into compliance, with the suspension of fines during these periods. In one instance, a reduction of accrued fines to administrative costs was approved after the property owner achieved compliance.
