The Student Success Plan for Fayetteville Public Schools is an online, living document designed to guide students from grades 8 through 12. Utilizing the Naviance platform, it aims to personalize education by assisting students in planning coursework, exploring career interests through assessments, and developing social-emotional learning skills. The plan emphasizes parental involvement through cap conferences to prepare students effectively for post-secondary opportunities and life beyond high school.

The Fayetteville Board of Education meeting featured updates and recognition of Mr. Matt Holden, an outstanding teacher. Mr. Holden shared his upcoming professional development opportunities, including participation in the Bimini Biological Field Station's shark lab educator course and the Grosvenor teacher Fellowship with National Geographic, which involves an expedition to Antarctica.

The Board of Education convened to interview candidates for the at-large vacancy. A final candidate will be selected at the regular BOE meeting.

The Board of Education meeting included presentations on teaching and learning at Washington, a cell phone update for the Spring 2025 semester, and an update on district-wide projects. The board approved new/revised policies on student discipline and school choice, as well as an Early Notification Incentive Proposal. The 2025-2026 School Calendar and the Legislative Platform were presented for future approval.

The Fayetteville Board of Education work session included a presentation of the FY22 Preliminary Budget by the Director of Finance and Business Services. Topics discussed included projected revenue for 2020-2021, a delayed Building Fund Transfer for 2019-2020, the projected expenditure budget for 2021-2022, the projected ending legal balance for 2020-2021, the Building Fund for 2020-2021, changes for the upcoming fiscal year, and preliminary revenue and expenditure budgets for 2021-2022. The board will consider approving the FY22 Preliminary Budget, adding Step 17 to Bachelor's Degrees, a \$1000 increase for certified teachers, and a 2.5% step increase for classified staff at the May 27 Board Meeting.
