The Chesapeake 2045 Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap for guiding the city's evolution towards an exceptional future, ensuring it remains a place where diverse lifestyles thrive, schools excel, green spaces are protected, and residents are housed and supported. It is built upon four guiding principles – Proactive, Green, Connected, and Unique – and focuses on seven key areas: Connectivity and Infrastructure, Economic Prosperity, Environment and Resilience, Growth Management and Rural Areas, Housing, Placemaking and Design, and Quality of Life. The plan aims to balance growth with infrastructure, protect natural resources, enhance community connections, and preserve the city's unique character.
