The agenda includes a discussion and potential action regarding the IXL Math Supplemental Online Program for Clover Flat Elementary School and Mountain Empire Junior High. The cost for renewing the IXL Math program is $7,950.00 for a 1 year license will be paid using CSI funds, which must be spent by June 30, 2025.

The meeting included tribal leadership updates from Campo, La Posta, and Manzanita regarding their education programs, cultural weeks, and community support activities. Discussions covered Title VI funding, objectives for increasing cultural identity, academic achievement, school attendance, and college and career readiness. District reports addressed the hiring of a new Assistant Superintendent, high school design funding, water issues, and power shut-offs. School reports highlighted events, tutoring, and academic standing.

The Board of Trustees held a regular meeting where they discussed pupil services and personnel services in closed session. In open session, they covered various reports including student board member reports, META report, CSEA report, and the superintendent's report which included updates on legislation, water advocacy, and district statistics. The board also discussed and took action on donations, board member replacement, interdistrict transfers, transportation agreements for special education students, a service agreement for a universal mental health screening grant program, personnel assignments, a provisional intern permit for a special education teacher, a memorandum of understanding with United States University, remuneration of a board member due to absence, release from probationary classified employment, and a contract of employment for the assistant superintendent. Additionally, they reviewed and approved financial items such as the revolving cash fund listing, purchase order listing, and various fund reports, as well as resolutions and agreements related to childcare programs, internet proposal, workability grant, charter service agreement, and emergency window electrical repair. The board also approved the TK ELA curriculum adoption and reviewed several board policies and administrative regulations. They concluded by setting the date for the March board meeting and adjourning.

Compass Charter School submitted a request for renewal to Mountain Empire Unified School District. The request, if approved, would renew the charter term for a period of five years. The Mountain Empire Unified School District held a Public Hearing on November 12, 2024, to consider the petition's support level. The District staff has determined that Compass Charter School meets the minimum criteria to be eligible for Renewal Petition for a five-year term beginning on July 1, 2025, and ending on June 30, 2030.
