The Board of Education held its organizational meeting which included the administration of the oath of office to new members, the election of the board president and vice president, and the establishment of annual operating protocols. Key agenda items included the designation of the official local newspaper for legal notices, setting the calendar for upcoming regular board meetings and work sessions, and adopting existing bylaws and policies. The Board also reviewed and approved standard fiscal procedures, designated authorization for the superintendent and treasurer regarding purchasing and property disbursement, and confirmed the appointment of various law firms and architectural firms for board services.

The meeting commenced with roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance. The board approved the agenda for December 16th, 2025, and approved the minutes from the November 20th, 2025 regular session. A significant portion of the meeting involved student recognition ceremonies, featuring several students from Worcester High School, Cornerstone Elementary, Keen Elementary, Melrose Elementary, Park View Elementary, and Edgewood Middle School, who were honored as students of the month, with commendations focusing on leadership, kindness, diligence, and academic effort. Later in the session, there was a report from the high school principal regarding proposed minor adjustments to the high school course selection guide, scheduled for release in January.

Key initiatives highlighted included a partnership with the Akan Canton Food Bank, which resulted in a school-based food pantry operating twice a month at the middle and high schools, providing sustainable food options. The second major topic was the second year of the winter break boxes initiative, designed to supply students with kid-friendly meals during the extended break when school meals are unavailable. The effort involved extensive community support, including students from the high school wrapping boxes, fourth graders preparing hygiene bags, and other classes assembling gingerbread houses and providing meal components for easy preparation.

The meeting included the opening of a public session with a roll call, followed by a motion to adjourn to an executive session. The reasons for the executive session included discussions related to the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of an employee or official, as well as the investigation of charges or complaints. The board president reconvened to the regular session, and the meeting was adjourned.
