City of St. Matthews Walkability Study
This Walkability Study for the City of St. Matthews provides a roadmap for improving the pedestrian network and creating a safer, more connected, and livable community. The plan is organized around four key goals: enhancing safety through clearer crossings and calmer traffic; establishing a complete and connected network by filling sidewalk gaps and linking destinations; ensuring comfort, accessibility, and maintenance of walking spaces; and reflecting community character in street design. Implementation is outlined in a phased approach, starting with quick-win improvements and progressively building towards a fully connected system over the long term.
