Hood River County School District Long Range Facilities Planning Committee Meeting
The committee focused on facility evaluation and capital improvement prioritization, guided by core board goals regarding financial stewardship and resilient learning spaces. A significant portion of the meeting involved a 'Fill the Cup' exercise, which evaluated four distinct capital improvement funding models ranging from a 10-year traditional bond to a 20-year cycle and a targeted, smaller bond strategy. These models incorporated varying bond sizes and an assumed state matching grant to address needs like building upgrades, transportation facilities, and potential major additions or new school construction. The committee also outlined upcoming project milestones, including public feedback strategies and a timeline for a potential bond measure election.
