This Commitment to Success Plan outlines the Capital School Board's strategic direction to foster student success and guarantee their future. It is structured around two main orientations: improving academic success and perseverance for young and adult students by increasing graduation and qualification rates, while simultaneously reducing secondary school dropout rates through enhanced literacy, numeracy, and school transitions; and enriching the educational experience by developing a digital culture, promoting physically active lifestyles, and upgrading institutional buildings. The plan emphasizes the implementation of collaborative approaches and empowers individual schools and centers to develop educational projects tailored to their specific environments and clientele.

The committee meeting addressed several key operational and planning items. Discussions included updates on the personnel appreciation week, student population projections for the upcoming school year, and space management planning. The board reviewed committee reports from the CCSEHDAA and the Board of Directors, noted appointments for board positions, and discussed infrastructure needs at several schools. Furthermore, a discussion workshop was held regarding the development of the 2026-2027 action plan, focusing on improving meeting efficiencies and communication strategies. Additionally, the committee designated a recipient for the FCPQ Bronze award.

The meeting focused on the awarding of two major construction contracts. The first contract pertains to the phase 1 renovation of the Pavillon de la Diversité, covering architecture, structure, civil, mechanical, and electrical works. The second contract involves roofing refurbishment at the Centre Saint-Fidèle. Both projects are funded by the Ministry of Education as part of building maintenance measures.

The meeting included the election of parent representatives to the board of directors for several districts. Administrative updates were provided regarding the school service center's strategic planning and facilities projects, including school site maintenance and construction. The committee reviewed treasury reports, approved budget reallocations, and adopted the 2026-2027 budget and meeting schedule. Additionally, the committee discussed updates from advisory groups, including the advisory committee for students with special needs and the school transportation committee, and shared resources for parental support.

The committee held a general assembly to conduct a budget training session, address public comments regarding parental advocacy, and debate several proposed modifications to its internal governing rules. Key discussions included ethical standards, the rights of public speakers, election procedures for parent representatives on the Board of Directors, and the structure of permanent working committees. Additionally, the committee reviewed and approved internal organizational policies and provided updates on parent recognition awards and upcoming educational resources.
