The Thomasville City Schools held a Public Tax Hearing to present information related to the Notice of Property Tax Increase. Community members were given the opportunity to share their positions to Board Members for consideration. Questions were raised regarding the district's reserves and the rationale for proposing to raise taxes. The district explained that the budget increase was needed to fund the increase in salaries and benefits for teachers, paraprofessionals, and contracted services, as well as increased operating costs due to inflation. The district also discussed the use of ESSER funds and future construction projects.

The 2019-2024 Strategic Plan for Thomasville City Schools focuses on maximizing the individual potential of all students for success in learning, leadership, and life. Key areas of focus include student success, 21st-century facilities, district efficiency, parent, family, and community engagement, personal performance and growth, and positive culture and climate. The plan aims to develop problem solvers, innovators, life-long learners, and productive citizens.

The Thomasville City Schools 5-Year Strategic Plan (2022-2027) focuses on four key goal areas: Student Success, District Efficiency and 21st Century Facilities, Positive Culture and Climate, and Personnel Performance and Growth. The plan aims to increase graduation rates, improve ELA and math scores, develop a comprehensive system of controls, enhance internal and external communication, evaluate and improve technology, improve facilities and finances, increase enrollment, and foster a positive school culture and climate through improved stakeholder relationships and community partnerships. The plan also prioritizes personnel acquisition, retention, and professional growth. The district serves approximately 2900 students across five schools, with four schools eligible for Title I funding due to high poverty rates. The student population is comprised of 58% African-American, 40% Caucasian, and 2% other ethnicities.

The 2024-25 District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP) for North Rose-Wolcott CSD prioritizes increasing family involvement in decision-making, using multiple measures to assess student growth, and expanding partnerships with community agencies. The plan aims to strengthen school-family relationships, address student needs holistically (academically, behaviorally, and attendance-wise), and provide families with necessary resources. Specific strategies include identifying areas lacking parent participation, using various communication methods to reach parents, implementing a new dashboard system for data-driven interventions, and employing additional Single Point of Access coordinators and a parent liaison to support high-needs students and English language learner families.
