The Council discussed the implementation of a speed and traffic counter on Old Harrods Creek Road to evaluate the need for a speed hump following an increase in citations. The Forestry Board provided a report regarding a newly planted Liberty Tree and an upcoming dedication ceremony. The Council conducted the second reading and approved the FY2027 budget ordinance. Additionally, approval was granted for three change order bid proposals for road capital projects, including paving and restoration work on Parkway Road, Pine Way Road, Hickory Road, Redwood Way, and the Evergreen Road railroad crossing. An executive session was held to discuss pending litigation.

The commission reviewed and approved several property renovation and construction plans, including exterior modifications for a residence on Homewood Drive, new home construction plans featuring adjustments to elevation, siding, and chimney materials on East Osage Road, and the removal of driveway pillars at a residence on Evergreen Road. Additionally, a representative from the Kentucky Heritage Council presented and discussed the state's upcoming ten-year historic preservation plan, exploring potential collaboration and funding strategies for updating local historic guidelines.

The meeting included reports from the Treasurer, Police Chief regarding radio console replacement and dispatcher hiring, and the Historic Preservation Commission regarding ordinance enforcement. The Forestry Board announced the Ridge Road project completion and a future Liberty Tree planting. The Council discussed and awarded a road paving contract for 2026. A first reading of the FY2027 Budget Ordinance was conducted. Additionally, an update was provided on upcoming school board vacancies, and the council entered an executive session to discuss pending litigation.

The board discussed key operational and project items, including a review of the City Forester's report regarding issued tree permits, and planning for the 2027 Arbor Day tree giveaway. Additional topics included the upcoming hazardous tree identification survey, the 2026 canopy campaign, the production of the 2027 calendar, and landscaping plans for Ridge Road. New business centered on the Liberty Tree Project for the U.S. semiquincentennial at Wagner Park, updates to tree removal notification forms, and potential participation in the Wind phone project. The newsletter content for June was also finalized.

The Commission reviewed and approved several property alteration requests, including garage door replacement and shed demolition for Epiphany Catholic Church, front and rear dormer additions for Jon and Sandy Tarter, a garage renovation and addition for Dena Engilman, and a revised gazebo and outdoor kitchen plan for Michael and Jimette Stetson. Additionally, the Commission conducted as-built reviews for properties on Homewood Drive, noting discrepancies between approved and actual construction, and requested the submission of accurate plans for further review.
