The City Council Work Session included a presentation and discussion regarding the implementation of invocations at future council meetings, focusing on legal implications and potential policies. Additionally, the Council received an update on the City Center Master Plan from the Surprise Center Development Company, which covered public outreach efforts, project phasing, and long-term planning for the downtown development area.

The commission reviewed and approved the upcoming regular meeting schedule for the fiscal year. Presentations were given regarding support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities by One Step Beyond, Inc., and an overview of aid and attendance benefits for veterans provided by the American Patriot Service Corp. Additionally, the commission received progress updates on the planning of a community resource fair and the status of the ongoing community needs assessment.

The commission reviewed and approved several development projects, including a Conditional Use Permit for a new self-storage facility, and site plans for a new manufacturing facility, a Marriott Springhill Suites hotel, and an e-commerce retail project. Discussions included building specifications, security and camera systems, parking requirements, aesthetic standards, landscaping, and traffic management. Additionally, the commission requested a report on the number of single-family and multi-family residential approvals for the current and upcoming fiscal years.

The board approved a resolution to fix, levy, and assess an Ad Valorem property tax for the Marley Park Community Facilities District at a rate of 4.3600 per $100.00 of assessed value.

The commission reviewed a zone change request for Windstone Ranch, which involved deliberations on pools and road access options. Additionally, the commission inquired about the status of the Land Development Ordinance and discussed the impacts of the current emergency declaration on stakeholder processes and meeting participation procedures.
