The public hearing concerns the planned consolidation of Hazel Dell and Laketown elementary schools, along with a proposal to include Southern View elementary school, into a new state-of-the-art facility. The discussion includes the rationale behind the consolidation, the selection of the new site on 11th Street, and the benefits of the new school, such as increased program availability, targeted spending, and greater teacher collaboration. The new school is designed to accommodate approximately 450 students and will offer modern amenities, improved safety features, and enhanced learning environments. The existing school sites and their future use were also addressed.

The meeting included discussions about immunizations and physicals for students, summer school programs, and the scope program for after school and before school daycare. There was also a discussion regarding personnel handling in the district, a treasurer's report, and a superintendent's report. The board is looking for sponsors to help fund channel 22.

Discussions covered a reading program for Black History Month at wanas, basketball games, and the achievements of Springfield high school's sports teams. There was also a visit to the Early Learning Center and Franklin, along with an announcement for an in-school and on-time press release by the faith Coalition for the common good. The Springfield High School boys swim team was also recognized. The board also discussed the psae incentives, and potential cuts to CCPA.
