Marietta City Council Council Meeting
The City Council met to determine the future of a contract for Flock safety cameras. Residents voiced concerns regarding data privacy, potential for mass surveillance, and Fourth Amendment protections. Although the Police Chief initially advocated for keeping the cameras, he changed his position during the meeting upon learning that data was being retained longer than the agreed-upon 30-day period. Consequently, the council voted to cancel the contract and remove the cameras.
