The Strategic Plan for the Idaho Division of Occupational & Professional Licenses (DOPL) serves as a roadmap to streamline operations, enhance customer experience, and improve overall performance, with a core mission of consumer protection and public safety. The plan is structured around five strategic goals: modernizing systems and processes to support Idaho's economy, ensuring effective regulation and enforcement to protect the public, fostering a healthy and productive workplace culture, achieving financial stability through effective resource management, and leading collaborative regulatory innovation. These efforts are intended to ensure a regulatory environment where Idaho's professionals excel, the economy is supported, and consumers and the public are safe.

The meeting included a review of the agenda and a discussion about the ceremony, with a preference expressed for medals to hang on a ribbon in the future. The next meeting was scheduled to coincide with the Association of Idaho Cities Conference at the end of June in Boise, if possible.

Sergeant Taylor Beach of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department was also awarded for saving a fellow officer. Officer Brian Quiterio of the Kimberly Police Department was recognized for saving a suicidal man from a cliff. The commission also discussed and approved the location and date for the 2025 ceremony.

The commission discussed the 2024 nominations, ultimately selecting Officer Chris Dance as a 2024 Medal of Honor recipient for his actions during a mall shooting incident. The location and date for the 2024 ceremony were also discussed and approved.
