Fargodome Authority Administration Meeting
The meeting focused on insurance renewal updates and strategic insurance procurement. Key topics included current insurance market conditions, characterized by a softening in the property segment but ongoing difficulties in liability and umbrella insurance due to social inflation. The authority evaluated contract renewal options from their incumbent insurer, Zurich, specifically comparing a one-year agreement with a rate reduction against a two-year rate lock option. Extensive discussion was held regarding the potential reduction of flood insurance coverage limits from $25 million to $10 million, balancing premium cost savings against historical flood data and recent drainage infrastructure improvements.
