Hopkins City Council Regular Meeting Proceedings
The Council received an update on the Hopkins Digital Access Initiative. The consent agenda included the approval of various temporary liquor licenses and an extension, a Joint Powers Agreement regarding the Shady Oak Station, an increase to the annual benefit payout for the Fire Department Relief Association, ratification of checks, and the second reading of an ordinance amending the development code concerning cannabis, hemp sales, and liquor and tobacco stores. In old business, the Council approved a resolution to decline placing a charter amendment for ranked-choice voting on the ballot, citing legal and implementation obstacles identified by county election officials, while requesting further consideration by the Charter Commission.
