The commission reviewed an annual TIF report and determined the 2027 budget year for TIF revenues. Key actions included approving an engagement letter with Baker Tilly, issuing RFPs for the Courthouse Redevelopment project and office furniture at Woodland Crossing, and authorizing the allocation of funds for the Labour Pump project. The commission also approved the offering of South Main parcels, a change order for Park 131, pedestrian and lighting improvements for East Windsor and Cassopolis, and the CDBG Ullery Park Enhancement Project. Furthermore, authorizations were granted for a Woodland Crossing budget adjustment, a food truck event agreement, and a subordination agreement for 1639 Huron Street, alongside updates on ongoing city infrastructure and construction projects.

The board discussed and approved the May 2026 expense report for the organization in the amount of $663.12.

The meeting focused on the appointment and swearing-in of four new police officers to the Elkhart Police Department. The Commission received notifications regarding status changes for several patrolmen who successfully completed their first and second years of service. Furthermore, the Commission engaged in a discussion concerning the availability of social and mental health support resources for department personnel.

The board opened bids for 10 police vehicles and subsequently awarded the contract to EB Ford. Discussion items included placing a corporal on administrative leave, swearing in a special officer, and renewing the contract for a 3D crime scene imaging system. The board also received an update on 911 center staffing, authorized an addendum to an MOU with Elkhart Community Schools to include a therapy dog, and authorized the sale of a surplus vehicle at auction.
