The board discussed proposed labor contracts with the Vestal PBA and the CSEA Blue Collar unit for the 2027-2029 period. A primary focus of the discussion was the prudence of seeking professional legal or expert review of these contracts before final approval, despite the significant good-faith efforts already invested in the negotiations. Consequently, the board voted to table the action items for both contracts to allow for such review. During the meeting, the board also formally amended the language of the agenda items, changing the term 'tentative agreement' to 'preliminary agreement' to more accurately reflect the status of the negotiations.

Zoning Board Of Appeals Of The Town Of Vestal Decision
The Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing regarding an application for an area variance to permit the placement of an accessory building in the side yard of a residence at 4040 Marietta Dr. The applicant explained that the new shed is a replacement for a storm-damaged structure on the same foundation, and that the rear yard is unsuitable for construction due to significant slope. A member of the public requested a condition prohibiting utilities in the shed. The Board approved the area variance with the condition that the shed be used strictly for storage purposes.
