The board also reviewed and approved a bond sale resolution to facilitate these facility improvements.
The Georgia Department of Public Health's four-year strategic plan (2022-2026), updated for FY 2025, outlines a roadmap to prevent disease, promote health, and respond to public health emergencies. The plan's strategic goals are aligned with the Governor's priorities, focusing on: reducing bureaucratic hurdles for small businesses; developing a skilled public health workforce; exercising conservative budgeting through initiatives like HIV prevention and facility relocation; expanding public-private partnerships and leveraging technology for IT system upgrades and laboratory renovation; and enhancing access to quality healthcare by addressing maternal and infant mortality, lead poisoning, immunization, opioid misuse, tobacco use, and congenital infectious diseases. The overall vision is to improve the health and well-being of all Georgians through evidence-based decision-making, health equity, and continuous quality improvement.
