The board conducted the election of officers for the year, including President, Vice President, Parliamentarian, and Executive Committee Member. Recognition was given for School Board Member Recognition Month and for members completing the LSBA Certified Board Member Program. Outstanding district students were recognized through the Students of the Year program. The board approved various financial reports and policy updates, including revisions regarding equal employment opportunity and a new policy on the use of artificial intelligence. Additionally, an executive session was held to address a student expulsion appeal and to discuss negotiations concerning the superintendent's contract, and committee reports were formally approved.

The board received presentations regarding a donation to the Special Education Department and the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. Proclamations were issued for National Autism Awareness Month, National Occupational Therapy Month, and National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Key financial actions included approving extra- and co-curricular activity allocations, the budget versus actuals for the General Fund, and a budget amendment. The board authorized the purchase of three separate real estate properties in Belle Chasse, including the health department and council on aging building, a tract of batture, and land along F. Edward Hebert Boulevard. Additionally, the board approved revisions to the Interscholastic Athletics policy and reviewed various committee and information reports.

The board discussed and approved several items, including out-of-state travel requests for student groups such as the Boothville-Venice Elementary Beta Club and Belle Chasse High School Cheerleaders. The board approved the General Fund Budget vs. Actuals for March 2026 and the Special Education Department Homebound Packet. Additionally, the board appointed Ranada Mackey-St. Ann to fill the unexpired term for District 07 and reviewed committee reports, information items related to self-funded health insurance, sales tax reports, and policy updates.

The board addressed several policy updates including sales and surplus equipment, behavioral health support, emergency management, employee conduct, recruitment procedures, dismissal of employees, and notification of meetings. Procurement and administrative topics included the approval of an IEP procedure manual, various out-of-state student travel requests, authorization for property acquisition, and acceptance of financial audit results. Additionally, the board approved an insurance renewal, discussed budget versus actuals, and authorized the advertisement of an oil, gas, and mineral lease. Furthermore, the board approved revised policies regarding student transfer and withdrawal and reviewed several information items including sales tax reports, check registers, and personal financial disclosure requirements.

The committee meeting addressed several financial and administrative items. Key discussions included the approval of Budget vs. Actuals for the General Fund, revisions to numerous job descriptions including the Curriculum Coordinator role, and an increase in employee costs for teacher daycare centers. The committee also considered the adoption of 2026 Ad Valorem tax millages, the development of the 2026-2027 Budget Adoption Schedule, and necessary revisions to faculty housing lease agreements along with rent adjustments. Additionally, information items regarding sales tax, check registers, student activity, and Head Start budgets were presented.
