The board discussed post-event reports for community events and tourism activities. The commission held public hearings and made recommendations on several land use and development requests. These included a conditional use permit for a used auto dealer at 301 N. Houston Avenue, which was subject to specific conditions regarding landscaping and parking. Additionally, the commission reviewed and recommended a replat for property at Mariner Cay Estates to adjust lot lines and resolve an encroachment issue.

The City Council conducted a public hearing and approved an ordinance for the rezoning of property at 1700 West Walker to allow for single-family residential development. Additionally, the Council received a project update from the Denison Arts Council, which included a review of recent event metrics, hotel occupancy tax usage, and the hiring of a new director. The meeting concluded with an executive session regarding the city manager search.

The commission held a meeting covering various administrative and project-related topics. Newly and reappointed members were sworn into office. Commission chair and vice chair positions were appointed for a one-year term. A training session was provided on commission member responsibilities, the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Public Information Act, and conflict of interest ethics. The commission approved the donation of an art sculpture for the Denison Public Library. Additionally, staff provided updates on various park projects, including trail clearing, bridge replacements, a new dog park, updated signage at Mson Park, and the installation of sensory signage at THF Park, along with concession stand renovations.

The Board discussed and approved a certificate of appropriateness for the exterior restoration and stabilization of the Travelers Hotel at 300 East Main Street. Additionally, the Board approved a change in paint color for 627 West Crawford Street and authorized the addition of outdoor sidewalk dining for Emily's Kitchen at 323 West Main Street. The meeting concluded with a staff update regarding signage approvals and the review of an RFP for a historic resources survey, which includes an assessment of the commercial historic district and potential residential districts.
