This Historic Preservation Plan for the City of Amity outlines the present state of its historic preservation program and provides next steps to guide its future over the next ten years. The plan's vision is for Amity's residents, advocates, and government to value and leverage the city's historic resources to build a sustainable future. It sets two primary goals: to establish city officials, staff, and volunteers as leaders in historic preservation best practices, and to ensure historic preservation is recognized as a key tool for improving sustainability, economic vitality, and sense of place within the community. The plan includes detailed strategies and actions for implementation, covering short, mid, and long-term objectives.
