The Board of Trustees held a special meeting to conduct a workshop regarding the progress of the 'Next 5' initiative. Key discussion topics included field and sprinkler rehabilitation projects and facilities use programs, as presented by the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and the Maintenance & Operations Director.

The Governance Team conducted a goal-setting session to review recommendations from the Executive Cabinet, leadership team, teachers, special populations, and LCAP survey responses. Discussions focused on evaluating district priorities, goals, and strategic objectives, determining which goals had been achieved, and identifying necessary adjustments for the 2024-2025 school year.

The meeting involved a closed session to discuss personnel matters, including appointments, assignments, promotions, and employee performance evaluations. The Board consulted with the Assistant Superintendents of Personnel, Business Services, and Educational Services. Additionally, the Board reviewed and updated ongoing negotiations with the FVEA and CSEA bargaining units.

The board held its annual organizational meeting, which included the election of board officers for the upcoming year and the appointment of representatives to various county committees and district councils. The board established the meeting calendar for the new year and reviewed and approved the First Interim Report for the fiscal year. Other key actions included the approval of Comprehensive School Safety Plans, Proposition 28 Visual and Performing Arts plans, an agreement for afterschool expanded learning programs, and a participation agreement for the Local Educational Agency Medi-Cal Billing Option Program.

The Board of Trustees held a governance team building session to review and update the board bylaws and the district governance team handbook, as well as to discuss best practices for effective team governance.
