The board discussed the Manor High School HVAC system update and moved to a closed session to consult with legal counsel regarding Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for architectural/engineering design and program management for the May 2014 Bond Construction Project, as well as pending litigation and personnel matters. Upon reconvening, the board selected architectural firms and designated projects for each, deliberated on the creation of an at-will program manager position, selected a program management firm for the bond project, and approved various HR matters involving administrators, teachers, and support staff.

The board addressed various operational and financial matters, including concerns from bus drivers regarding working hours and salary. Key actions taken included approval of an MOU for the Travis County JJAEP, selection of TASB delegates, and adoption of the District Student Handbook and Code of Conduct. The board also approved 2011-12 budget line items, investment reports and policies, data cabling services, National School Lunch Program regulation amendments, and TASB Policy Update 90. Additionally, members reviewed monthly financial statements and audit preparations, conducted a closed session to deliberate personnel and property matters, and subsequently approved recommendations for administrative, teaching, and support staff positions.

The Board Workshop focused on a legislative update, an academic and data review, and the establishment of goals for the District Improvement Plan.

The board meeting proceedings included the official swearing-in of a new member. The board convened a closed session to discuss personnel matters and consult with the school attorney regarding legal considerations. Following the return to open session, the board deliberated on and approved recommended administrators, teachers, support staff, and various human resources-related matters.

The board meeting centered on a Lone Star Governance training session conducted by a presenter from the Texas Education Agency. The session involved the full board of trustees focusing on governance training objectives.
