The Board of Commissioners conducted a regular meeting that included a public comment period featuring discussions on an RFP for marketing services, the advocacy for a county-level community land trust, and an update on a USDA broadband technical assistance award. The meeting also included the issuance of three proclamations, which were for National Nurses Week, National Hospital Week, and the Wild Wild West Rodeo Days.

The work session addressed several key items, including a public concern regarding a road construction project on Bear Mountain Road, a report from the USDA Wildlife Services on their predator damage management and disease monitoring programs in the county, and a presentation of the preliminary fiscal year 2027 budget. The budget discussion covered revenue and expense forecasting, personnel costs across various funds, and proposed salary increases for elected officials and employees.

The board meeting included an executive session regarding limited personnel matters for the County Manager's office and Sheriff's office. A presentation was provided regarding solid waste operations in the county. The board adopted several resolutions, including the 2025 Grant County Hazard Mitigation Plan, the final budget for fiscal year 2026, the final quarter financial report for fiscal year 2025, the fixed asset certification, and the final budget adjustment for fiscal year 2025. Additionally, the board approved a new stipend program policy for the Fire Department and updated the employee conduct policy.

The work session involved a status update presentation regarding courthouse drawings by the Planning and Capital Projects Director and architects. Various department heads provided operational reports, and the commission conducted a review of the agenda scheduled for the upcoming regular meeting.

The board approved several agenda items including indigent burials, inventory deletion for obsolete equipment at Grant County Dispatch, and IT project quotes. The 2026 budget for Corre Caminos was approved. The board also passed multiple resolutions, including the Preservation of Land and Water Rights, ratification of an agreement with the Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments with associated membership appointments, a budget adjustment request, and a resolution of support and financial commitment for Corre Caminos.
